Christian Hjärner

Christian Hjärner has been improvising since 2003. For several years, Christian was part of the ensemble at Teater Prego and one of the organisers of the Sweden International Improv Festival (SWIMP) in Uppsala. He has been performing in scripted theater since 1998, collaborating with Teater Essence and acting in "Uppsala krönikespel" and "Gamla Uppsalaspelen." He also co-directed "Havet är djupt," a spex at Norrlands Nation in Uppsala.

Christian has trained with Cecilia Byttner, My Gudmundsdotter, Chris Mead, Katy Schutte, Phil Lunn, Shaun Landry, Paulo Busi, Will Naameh, Pat Parhiala, and Misch Whitaker. His favorite improvised character so far has been Bobby, the dragon mascot, in a wild departure from his other favorite performance as Astrov in "Uncle Vanya." Christian joined the regular ensemble at Impram in 2019.

When not improvising, Christian may be found teaching drama to kids, singing, playing music, or cooking (he can make the perfect egg!). As improviser, he will always cheer a mistake up as a chance to discover something wonderful.
